Summary:

The Marble Flat Responsive Creative WordPress Theme is as elaborate or as minimalistic as the designer who creates it. No matter how you slice it, the Marble theme provides a consistent flow between individual pages that ultimately provides a light user friendly viewing experience. Simple perhaps, boring never because as seamless as this design layout seems to be, it is just as every bit fun and interactive.

Home Page Marble WordPress Theme

If a design aspect serves no real functional purpose, it’s considered a distraction from the overall user experience and is one of the reasons that minimalistic flat design has become so popular when creating responsive designs that are viewable over a wide spectrum of devices. The Marble flat responsive WordPress theme created by TommusRhodus proves that while flat design may be a touch minimalistic, it is definitely far from boring.

With 6 different portfolio style homepage layouts, Marble is the perfect theme for artists, photographers, creative agencies, digital studios, freelancers, and designer’s wanting to showcase visual content. The images adapt quickly and effortless to different screen sizes and the theme is compatible with a large number of plugins and addons.

Designer’s View:

Though there are six different homepage layouts such as magazine and corporate style, there are in fact only two very distinctive formats in which these layouts can be viewed. The first one is a sleek thumbnail portfolio grid view and the other is a clean, classic full width image slider view, which are equally stunning. The addition of many customizable features such as a variety of slider choices is what gives each of these pages their own splash of design.

The homepage is highly interactive and creates the standard for the rest of the theme, which is actually quite easy and fun to navigate.

Marble Highlight’s:

Undoubtedly, Marble contains one of the best and most extensive theme options panel that I have ever seen. The options are well organized and the choices are easy to understand and implement into the design, reinforcing the overall user’s experience.

The theme comes bundled with the Revolution Slider plugin, a premium slider that is hugely popular within the WordPress design community due to it’s wide range of features and ease of use. Revolution provides the theme with a quick and easy way to add visually stunning sliders effects to create unique individual page designs.

Adding a nice finishing touch to the user experience, the theme comes with Retina ready graphics, flat icons, is SEO optimized and comes with Showbiz Pro for creating versatile carousel image galleries. With all these interesting and interactive ways to display content, it is hard to believe that the Marble theme is a flat design theme at all.

Blogging:

Clean and sophisticated best describes the blog and post page that can be viewed with or without a sidebar. If blogging is a key factor in your website, I would not recommend using the no sidebar option in your design because the post feature page really has no distinction on its own. In fact, some users may find it difficult to distinguish between the different page layouts, the features page and the blog page itself.  This option is however quite useful for designers wanting to provide seamless interactions between all of them.

The addition of the sidebar, seen below provides the post with a bit more distinction and clarification.

Portfolio:

The entire theme is based on a unique portfolio style design that can be customized and viewed in a number of ways on a variety of different pages. The theme’s overall design is highly dependant on the features that you add to each individual page. Features such as drag and drop page editors, sliders, icons, shortcodes and image galleries provide the tools for making that possible.

Sometimes, an image is worth a thousand words and as you can plainly see, even though each page is unique, the portfolio style remains consistent throughout, creating a seamless and effortless viewing experience over a wide variety of devices.

Hey Pete, Thanks for the full and thorough review of Marble! I’m glad you like my implementation of the standard WordPress options panel, it’s been a beautiful feature since WP3.4 and I can’t wait to see more authors pushing it even further! Cheers!
