The King Size WordPress Theme created by Denoizzed certainly lives up to its name with over 13000 confirmed purchases thus far, proving that when it comes to image and video display, bigger is definitely better. The main focus of the theme is the countless gallery, slider, portfolio and video display options that are perfect for users wanting to showcase large capacity media collections. A fullscreen background slider, video or image homepage sets the stage for a site wide media viewing experience that is quite remarkable. The interactive vertical navigation menu adds a distinct design feature that is part of this theme’s overall charm and one of the reasons for its popularity.
King Size supports a variety of popular media tools including; YouTube, Vimeo, Galleria, FancyBox and Pretty Photo making it a an excellent choice for photographers, travel agents, entertainers or users who simply want to focus most of their design efforts on visual content. Showcasing media in a variety of different formats is definitely a King Size plus in this theme. Widget and sidebar ready, the blogging portion of the theme does provide several options for customizing, however in my opinion, it is somewhat limited in size. What it lacks in bells and whistles, the King Size Theme makes up for in rich life size media display. If high quality visual content is what you are trying to achieve with your design, then this theme is definitely worthy of a second look.
King Size highlights:
The full screen display options for the homepage is one of the biggest highlights of the theme. Easily accessed within the theme admin options panel, seen in the image above, you can set YouTube, Vimeo and MP4 videos to display as your homepage instead of more familiar static type content pages. You can just as easily display full screen image sliders with or without content, titles, descriptions, and controllers if you choose. Finally, there is the somewhat lighter and ever popular option to use a single full screen image as your background.

The interactive elements and shortcodes such as accordion style selectors, toggling and alignment features included in the design is a definite plus for designer’s who want to quickly and easily edit posts and pages on the fly with little or no effort.
Equally impressive, the partial paragraph division alignment shortcodes are one of the most convenient ways to display snippets of content that I have come across in a very long time.
Five different gallery types supported in the theme along with numerous portfolio display options add the perfect finishing touch for showcasing eye catching, visually appealing image and video collections with the simple click of a button. The galleries are: Galleria, FancyBox, ColorBox, PrettyPhoto and SliderViewer.
When it comes to photo and video blogging, I would highly recommend this theme, however, if you are looking to add huge amounts of written content, this theme is probably not the best choice that you can make. The blog page and posts content area is somewhat restricting in size and may be hard to read in some browsers. While I appreciate the huge background image and the design potential that it offers, I find the content and widgets areas slightly too small in comparison.
Heavy amounts of written content tends to make the smaller post content area appear slightly “busy.”
Depending on the image chosen, the background can create a bit of an imbalance in the overall scheme of things, especially when you are trying to focus your efforts on displaying a variety of different media post types. The saving grace here is the huge amount of gallery and portfolio display options available.
The vertical navigation menu adds a unique and distinct design to the posts and pages that is very “trendy,” however, some people may find the location of it somewhat bothersome. For this reason, it is a good thing that the navigation menu can be hidden simply by clicking on the arrow located at the bottom of it.
Hands down the most practical and useful functionality of this theme lies in the portfolio display option that it has. Portfolio displays in the King Size theme allow you to organize your collections by images, videos or a combination of both. Moreover, you can showcase your media collections in a variety of different viewing formats. The portfolio option provides the theme with a added design touch that seems to be lacking in the post and content pages.
What I like most about the portfolio feature is that you can configure it right from the advanced theme options admin panel with minimal effort and it has a custom read more link design option.

The full screen image background along with the video and image galleries supported and included in this theme make it reasonably price at just 50$ for a single user license. The countless hours that you will save on not having to configure image and portfolio display areas will surely cover the cost of the theme in its entirety and then some. The theme comes with a fullwidth audio player plugin that is currently priced at 16 dollars, giving it added bang for the buck.
Bigger is definitely better when it comes to viewing videos and you cannot get bigger than the King Size full screen display options and features in this theme. The overall look and feel screams loud and proud and from a marketing and presentation standpoint, if you want to promote your products and services in a visually appealing manner, then this is the clearly one of the best WordPress themes available on ThemeForest.
